At J Tomlinson we believe what makes a great contractor is the quality of its people. Because of this, we place a heavy emphasis on training and development. We have investing over £200,000 in 2008 on building the technical and professional abilities of our employees.
Training Opportunities
Through the deployment of an employee appraisal scheme, we are able to identify group and individual training needs and offer employees a variety of opportunities throughout the year to align with their requirements.The majority of our training is on-the-job with direction and mentoring by experienced employees who can share best practices and lessons learned.
J Tomlinson divisions provide training in the following areas:
Foremen and operative's training, estimating, project engineering, and project management training. In addition, we encourage employees to participate in external courses of both vocational and academic disciplines, to expedite career advancement opportunities.
Professional Certification or Registration
We encourage employees to seek professional certification and licensing as appropriate for their career needs. Providing the support needed to obtaining professional certification or registration directly related to their duties and position.
Professional Societies/Technical Associations
We encourage participation in professional societies, technical associations and industry organisations.
