Ivor Goodsite joins J Tomlinson for National Child Safety Week
June 7, 2017
Considerate Constructors Scheme mascot Ivor Goodsite has been visiting the regeneration department of J Tomlinson and going out and about with the SHEQ team during National Child Safety Week this week.
Meeting clients and customers, along with tradespersons and managers on site, Ivor has been out on site and also plans to visit schools near J Tomlinson sites later this week.
“Ivor is the Considerate Constructors Scheme mascot and it’s only fitting that during National Child Safety Week he spends some time with an organisation that eats, sleeps and breathes community spirit,” said SHEQ manager Richard Ball. “J Tomlinson looks at clients, customers and the community as an essential inclusion to our One Team culture.”
Ivor is spending time around the business as he prepares to attend planned school presentations to some of the pupils at schools near J Tomlinson’s construction sites.
“The intent will be to educate the young generation in the risks that they could be exposed to on our sites and also how to work safely in construction, something J Tomlinson Ltd knows only too well,” added Richard.
One of Ivor’s visits took place at a local scheme for Ashfield District Council at Summerhill Court, where site manager Richard Makison explained how the roofing refurbishment has been a huge success.
“People who live there could not praise the workforce and J Tomlinson Ltd enough,” said Richard Ball.
National Child Safety Week is run by Child Accident Prevention Trust to raise awareness of the risks of child accidents and how they can be prevented. It runs from 5th to 11th June 2017.
