J Tomlinson awarded South Central Ambulance Service maintenance contract
June 26, 2018
J Tomlinson has been appointed on a two-year contract to provide maintenance services to South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS).
The appointment follows J Tomlinson’s extensive work with the emergency services sector, including a planned and reactive maintenance contract with West Midlands Ambulance Service, for whom the company’s construction division also recently completed a 18,865 sq. ft. new community ambulance station in Stoke.
The contract will run from June 2018 to March 2020, with the possibility of a five-month extension, and will comprise the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services across over 100 sites, including resource centres, fire stations and ambulance bases.
Having worked with emergency services for over 20 years providing new buildings, refurbishment works, M&E improvements and facilities management services, J Tomlinson specialises in helping to meet the complex requirements of its clients across the police, ambulance and fire services. Some of the clients the company has recently worked alongside include West Midlands Ambulance Service, East Midlands Ambulance Services, Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue, North Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Police, and West Mercia Police.
South Central Ambulance Service provides NHS ambulance services across Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxon, with buildings in Sussex and Surrey. With J Tomlinson already primarily providing various building and maintenance services to bluelight authorities across the Midlands and Northern regions, this appointment represents a significant contribution to the firm’s ever-growing national coverage.
Martin Ardron, Operational Director at Nottingham-based J Tomlinson, commented: “We are delighted to be working with South Central Ambulance Service, an appointment that further demonstrates the breadth of J Tomlinson’s experience and expertise in working within the emergency services sector – in which the maintenance of 24/7 operational facilities is particularly critical.
“We very much look forward to building a valuable, collaborative partnership with SCAS over the coming years.”
Paul Cross, Head of Estates at South Central Ambulance Service, commented: “I am very pleased to announce the appointment of J Tomlinson on the maintenance contract across our various sites, and I look forward to working with them.”
Nottingham-based J Tomlinson operates primarily across South Yorkshire, the East Midlands and the West Midlands, offering a range of integrated building services which include construction, mechanical and electrical services (M&E), facilities management, refurbishment, repairs and maintenance and regeneration.
