|Objectives / Purpose of Role|
|Working within our Regeneration department, we are looking for an Apprentice to start their journey into the construction industry, focusing on the Quantity Surveyor route.
We have recently started on a new contract in the North West region that you will be a part of the team on completing housing upgrades in social housing. For example, kitchens, bathrooms, heating systems, electrical rewires, roofing, windows and doors.
Within this team, you will be supporting by supporting the Quantity Surveyor to price works and obtain quotes for jobs from suppliers. You will be working in and out of the office attending site on occasion. The role involves processing a lot of financial information and spreadsheets so if you enjoy Maths and calculations and have an interest in the Construction industry.
|Role is a mixture of working on site & in the office, a large % of time is spent on the laptop using Microsoft excel
The work is fast paced, we have multiple projects on site at any time. Supporting the Operations Team will mean that days can be unpredictable, and actions may need to be completed quickly – this can be exciting and rewarding but also demanding
Responsibilities will include:
· Pricing works using a schedule of rates
· Obtaining quotes from Suppliers & Sub-Contractors
· Completing progress reports
· Attending Site Meetings with Operations Team and providing Site Measurements
· Verifying Sub-Contractor / Supplier applications for payment
· Placing Purchase Orders
· Updating IT Management Systems with Job Information
|· General understanding of using IT (Laptop etc), use of word & excel
· Ability to present information neatly and in a way that is easy to understand
· Feeling comfortable speaking to a room of people
