Objectives / Purpose of Role
The Site Manager is responsible for the smooth running of project (s) whilst maintaining the quality and cost control of the project.
Specific Responsibilities
·         Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management and establish standards of quality on site and ensure delivery of a quality build in accordance with the project specifications and project requirements.

·         Arrange works in accordance with project programmes, track progress and control operations to achieve delivery of the project on time.

·         Organise the works and supply chain to provide the right working environment to avoid disruption between trades.

·         Understand the client priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintain good working relations.

·         Undertake the works in the most economic manner to eliminate waste and avoid non-recoverable costs and preliminaries losses.

·         Control costs, timing and quality in line with targets.

·         Work to agreed preliminaries budget.

·         Adopt the best practise set by J Tomlinson and manage community relations.

·         Ensure appropriate site image is maintained to encourage repeat business.

·         Mitigate risks of complaints when working on/in and around occupied premises.

·         Implement & comply with systems & standard procedures.

Operational

  • Stakeholder Relations – Be able to meet stakeholder needs, develop strong and trusting relations and be able to plan exchanges for positive outcomes. Proactively manage your relations and know what stakeholders hold strong impact on your operation
  • Targets and Deadlines – Be able to manage and delegate tasks effectively alongside managing and meeting contract KPIs and SLAs within your team. Ensure sufficient resource and tools to meet goals and produce in depth analytical reports, forecasts and implement improvement plans
  • Company Compliance – Understands, monitors and manages teams and subcontractor adherence to all legal and company compliance, policies and procedures. Ensure all the team are competent and skilled to conduct their job role efficiently and safely
  • Business and Commercial FocusInterprets contractual information including SLAs, budgets, services and identifies opportunities to improve financial performance and streamline processes. Can adapt to the changing needs of clients and you implement change within the team successfully

People Management

  • Onboarding – Follows internal processes for interviewing and offers. Has user guides and objectives in place for new starters and you coach and mentor them to successfully integrate them into the team
  • Employee Development and Compliance – Understand your teams’ strengths and areas for growth and work with them to grow within their role through development plans and adaptive styles. You can give constructive feedback and display a positive attitude toward self-development. Supports and reviews Apprentices. Manages the compliance of your teams training and licences
  • Leadership and Management – Creates the ‘buzz’ and acts as role model for the team. Integrates and displays the One Team wheel values. Adaptative and flexible management style. Manages issues without need for escalation and promote teamwork and strong team relationships

  • Self-Development – Understand your own strengths and growth areas as a person and leader and strive to improve and develop your knowledge constantly. Seeks networks in peer groups and across other departments and 360-degree feedback to build upon

Applicant Requirements
·         HNC / NVQ3 in Building Services or individual trade discipline (D)

·         Formal management qualification (eg ILM Level 5) (D)

·         Full UK driving licence (E)
