May 26, 2019
National procurement organisation Fusion21 has selected J Tomlinson for its national Construction Works & Improvements Framework.
The framework, estimated to be worth up to £800m over four years, will deliver capital works programmes across housing, education, healthcare and other public sector projects.
J Tomlinson is one of 45 firms that have been chosen for the framework, which will be split into two primary work channels – refurbishment and design and construction work.
Darroch Baker, construction managing director at J Tomlinson, said: “We are very pleased to have been appointed to Fusion21’s national Construction Works & Improvements Framework, having been awarded a place on its Retrofit Framework in 2015.
“J Tomlinson has successfully secured appointments on several frameworks over recent years, and we are looking forward to providing our Construction, Maintenance and Regenerative services and expertise to even more of Fusion21’s members. Frameworks offers clients a procurement route that is both simple and also delivers the best value.”
The framework, which went live on 1st April, offers a range of internal and external refurbishment and improvement works through to the building of additional structures – and will support housing providers, local authorities, educational institutions and healthcare organisations to deliver regeneration programmes, modernisation and upgrade works, plus construction of all building types.
Peter Francis, director of operations at Fusion21, said: “Having responded to member and market demand, we have created a commercially efficient framework solution that will support the delivery of refurbishment and regeneration programmes across the public sector.
“Our members will benefit from working with supply partners that have been appointed based on sector experience, competence and capability, while also having the option to select suppliers by region and value band to meet local delivery requirements.”
J Tomlinson, which was founded in the 1950s, works primarily across the West Midlands, East Midlands and Yorkshire, supported by a network of offices and depots.
The company provides a range of integrated building solutions including construction, refurbishment, repairs and maintenance, mechanical and electrical services (M&E), and facilities management, and works across all major sectors, including healthcare, social housing, student accommodation, commercial and industrial.
