Annual winners of J Tomlinson’s internal staff awards announced
January 6, 2021
Before Christmas, J Tomlinson announced the annual winners of its staff awards – the WOWs, which recognise excellent service, and the Safetys, which celebrate commitment to health and safety best practice.
Here’s a recap of 2020’s ultimate winners:
WOW Winner – David Redfern (Plumber)
Plumber David Redfern, who works within J Tomlinson’s Maintenance department, was nominated by his line manager following his compassion and quick-thinking in providing emergency response to a distressed individual during a property visit. As well as alerting the relevant authorities and providing first aid on site, Dave stayed by the individual’s side to provide care and comfort even after help arrived.
Safetys Winners – Kate Wright (Project Manager) and Jacqui Larkin (Site Manager)
Project Manager, Kate Wright, and Site Manager, Jacqui Larkin, both of whom work within J Tomlinson’s Regeneration department, were recognised for their excellent management of two respective live planned improvements projects undertaken on behalf of Jigsaw Homes.
Kate commented: “We’re so pleased to receive this award. It’s not purely down to our sheer determination to show our capabilities to manage and run the works that we do; it’s the drive and ambition to make the next site better than the last.
It’s a real achievement seeing its recognition and to encourage more women to work in this industry.”
About the awards
Launched by J Tomlinson in 2016, the WOW and Safetys Awards recognise and reward colleagues and teams for their commitment to upholding the company’s visions and values.
Each quarter, employees are encouraged to nominate individuals or teams that have gone above and beyond to deliver excellence both internally and externally, make strides in personal development, and demonstrate our health and safety standards. All quarterly winners and runners-up are put forward for the chance to win top prizes at the end of the year.
