J Tomlinson Solution

J Tomlinson provide an effective and cost-efficient solution, working in partnership with Nottingham City Homes to achieve positive results. We focus on investigating the root cause of issues and providing future-proofed solutions. We focus largely on three areas; understanding the cause of damp issues, creating archetypal designs for major structural works, and using new approaches to underpinning/piling issues.

J Tomlinson has worked in conjunction with Nottingham City Homes to provide an excellent service through:

A fast response – using innovative technologies and methods we have provided a timely service to residents, including working with structural engineers to create a standardised suite of design for retaining walls.

Safe practice – the processes and procedures we have introduced to the contract ensure that deliver to a safe standard is continued, meaning less risk for Nottingham City Homes and its residents.

Saving time and money – we have helped to introduce long-term solutions to persistent issues, offering a ‘value-for-money’ service that is delivered on time and to budget. For example: educating residents about damp-proofing, rather than providing costly short-term fixes, has been instrumental to helping improve and maintain good living standards.

In 2018, the excellent partnership between J Tomlinson and Nottingham City Homes was recognised at the NHMF awards, where it was announced as a finalist in the ‘Best Contract’ category.

Project Achievements

SHARED VALUES - J Tomlinson’s passion for giving back to our local communities has led to us supporting and getting involved in a wide range of initiatives and campaigns that are significant to NCH. These include assisting with the restoration of the city’s beloved Sheila Roper Centre, as well as providing materials to assist Nottingham City Homes apprentices taking part in the annual Brathay Apprenticeship Challenge

LOCAL DEPOT - upon securing the contract, J Tomlinson purchased a depot in Bulwell, which we use as a base for material deliveries and contract meetings

LIFE-CHANGING IMPROVEMENTS - we have made significant and sometimes life-changing improvements to the lives of many Nottingham City Homes residents. We focus heavily on damage prevention and future-proofing, educating residents on issues such as damp-proofing to help improve living standards

TAILORED PROGRAMMING - we are considerate of the unique needs and requirements of each home we work within, working closely with Nottingham City Homes to tailor our programme of works to ensure optimum convenience for residents
