Reserve Forces and Cadet Association - Facilities Management Contract

The Reserve Forces and Cadet Association (RFCA) provide advice, guidance, and support to the Defence Council, local communities, and manage all associated estates.

As the East Midlands and East Anglia Reserved Forces and Cadet Association hold ownership to a diverse range of buildings, they required a dedicated contractor to manage both planned and reactive maintenance services amongst their estates.

Following a competitive tender process, J Tomlinson were appointed as a main contractor to provide an integrated facility management solution to East Midlands RFCA. The geographical spread of the contract includes the management of 165 estates across the region, including Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, and Northamptonshire.

We provide pre-planned maintenance, reactive repairs, minor ad-hoc works, and a water quality monitoring service. This covers catering equipment, plumbing, fire safety systems, CCTV, automatic doors, gas and oil-fired boilers, lift and hoist equipment.

Works are carried across a range of building types, ages, and conditions; including low-carbon and energy efficient facilities. All properties requiring works remain fully operational throughout, encompassing garages, offices, kitchens, teaching, and training areas.

24/7/365 Emergency Response Service

We provide a 24/7/365 emergency response service within two hours of notification to prevent disruption when issues are identified. Our extensive out-of-hours call out rota supports instant assistance, providing a service throughout evenings and weekends.

We have worked closely alongside the authority to help trial new schemes aimed at improving safety and cost efficiency. This includes our long-term collaboration to trial the Compass Legionella Management System, permitting operatives to update water testing records at each site. This instantly detects when water temperatures are too low for immediate rectification.

Excellent service - contract extensions and additional projects

Since being awarded the contract, J Tomlinson have been awarded additional contracts for the RFCA, with a one year contract being awarded with East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadet Association, providing a planned and reactive maintenance service across the region.
