Five-year Partnership and Facilities Management Contract secured with The ExtraCare Charitable Trust
J Tomlinson is delighted to announce our new five-year partnership with The ExtraCare Charitable Trust, the UK’s leading not-for-profit housing developer for those aged over 55.
Appointed to maintain six retirement and care complexes across the East of England, the hard facilities management contract will provide responsive, void, and cyclical maintenance to over a thousand homes. The contract will encompass all aspects of building maintenance, including daytime and OOH emergency callouts, periodic servicing, maintenance, and testing of mechanical installations.
J Tomlinson were one of five contractors to be awarded the five-year contract, as well as Dodd Group Ltd and First in Service Ltd being successors. The core focus of the procurement process was to reduce the number of contractors operating across ExtraCare’s estate, creating a consolidated, more efficient, and manageable supply chain.
It is hoped by The ExtraCare Charitable Trust that the consolidation from over 100 contractors to five will improve several key services offered to residents and drive forward efficiencies.
Head of Property and Environment for ExtraCare, Aran Duggan said: “This is a major step forward for ExtraCare, and in particular for our repairs and maintenance area of operation. I am confident that in time, the partnerships with our new contractors will make daily tasks easier, make us more efficient, and ultimately improve the service we provide to our residents and location teams.”
Facilities Management Director, Darroch Baker added: “We are really pleased to partner with ExtraCare in the delivery of a reliable, friendly, and compliance-based hard facilities management services across their locations, reinforcing J Tomlinson’s building and maintenance services offering the ever-growing retirement sector.
“Having already worked with ExtraCare on a number of comprehensive refurbishment schemes, we are highly familiar with their processes, vision, and values and look forward to working closely together over the next five years to create better lives for residents.”
The contracts commenced April 1, 2022.
