J Tomlinson continues to rise through the ranks of Nottinghamshire’s top businesses

Beeston-based J Tomlinson has moved up the list naming Nottinghamshire’s top 200 businesses to become the 40th firm, based on turnover.
The company – founded in the 1950s – has risen 12 places from 52nd place in 2017 in the list compiled by Nottingham Trent University’s Nottingham Business School.
This was the fourth year that the list has been drawn up – with Beeston-based J Tomlinson moving up each year.
J Tomlinson CEO Mark Davis said: “J Tomlinson is on a journey of sustainable growth, and the fact that we have moved to a higher position in the Nottinghamshire’s top 200 businesses list is a reflection of the continued success of the company across its sectors in construction, refurbishment, mechanical and electrical services, facilities management and social housing repairs, maintenance and regeneration.

Revealed by the Nottingham Post at a breakfast event at Harts Restaurant attended by business professionals from across the county, the list was topped by Boots UK Ltd, with a turnover of £8.06 billion.
J Tomlinson, which employs around 460 people, provides a range of building services. The business is committed to direct employment opportunities and providing pathways to employment through apprenticeships. The business operates its core regions from Canwell, Sutton Coldfield, Wakefield and Beeston, with other regional offices to support our major partnerships.
It works across all major sectors, including healthcare, social housing, student accommodation, commercial and industrial.
J Tomlinson, which was founded in Nottingham the 1950s, works primarily across the Midlands, Yorkshire and Northern and Central England.
The company provides a range of sustainable building solutions including refurbishment, repairs and maintenance, engineering services, extra care construction, renewable energy, and facilities management, working across a range of key sectors including extra care, healthcare, blue light, social housing and local government.
