J Tomlinson named a finalist in National Energy Efficiency Awards 2019
August 30, 2019
J Tomlinson’s expertise in installing energy efficient, renewable heating systems has been rewarded after the company was named as a finalist in the National Energy Efficiency Awards 2019.
The Nottingham-based maintenance, construction and refurbishment services partner has been shortlisted in the Renewable Heat Project of the Year Award and also as Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Installer/Contractor of the Year.
Success at the East Midlands and West Midlands Enegy Efficiency Awards
Earlier this year, J Tomlinson took home the RHI Installer/Contractor of the Year title at both the East Midlands and West Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards.
Steve Kirkland, domestic and commercial maintenance director at J Tomlinson, said: “J Tomlinson is a key provider of maintenance and installation services to the housing sector, and we take great pride in the partnerships we are involved in with our clients which are helping to reduce fuel poverty and cut carbon emissions.
“We were thrilled to win the titles of RHI Installer/Contractor of the Year in both the East and West Midlands earlier this year, and are delighted that the company has now been named as a finalist in two categories in the National Energy Efficiency Awards, which shine a light on best practice in the sector.”
131,900kg of carbon emissions saved per year
J Tomlinson has been shortlisted in the Renewable Heat Project of the Year Award for a Solihull project delivered in conjunction with housing association Bromford and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning technology company Vaillant. The scheme involved installing ground source heat pump systems across 37 hard-to-treat properties and is expected to save 131,900 kg of carbon emissions per year. It’s estimated that residents will cut their heating bills by 30% to 40%. Work in Newholme Gardens included installation of three Vaillant heat pumps, two 800L buffer tanks and weather compensation self-modulating systems. As J Tomlinson is an MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme)-accredited installer, Bromford will be able to generate additional revenue via RHI and ECO funding, equating to over £570,000 spread across 20 years.
J Tomlinson, which has experienced significant success working with clients to install renewable heating systems, including ground and air source heat pumps, has also been shortlisted for the title of RHI Installer/Contractor of the Year. The firm, which is headquartered at Beeston near Nottingham and also has key branch offices in Canwell in the West Midlands, Wakefield in South Yorkshire, Newton-le-Willows in Merseyside, and Billingham, near Stockton-on-Tees, has undertaken 180 RHI installations in the past year alone, all involving ground and air source heat systems.
About the Energy Efficiency Awards
The award finals take place on 27th September at the Vox Conference Centre & Genting Hotel at the NEC Birmingham.
The aim of the Energy Efficiency Awards is to provide public recognition for the excellent work the energy efficiency sector is doing in implementing energy efficiency schemes that help residents reduce their energy bills, tackle fuel poverty, and reduce carbon emissions, and to help encourage best practice within the energy industry as it works to improve UK housing stock. They are held on a regional and national basis each year.
