J Tomlinson shortlisted for Education Estates awards 2019

J Tomlinson has been shortlisted for the prestigious Contractor of the Year title at the 2019 Education Estates Awards.

From schools to universities, policing academies to student accommodation, the refurbishment, construction and maintenance specialist is an experienced provider to the education sector, working closely with clients to deliver and maintain student and staff-centric environments that positively impact and influence future learning.

Pete Woods, director of J Tomlinson’s refurbishment department, commented: “J Tomlinson works with multiple different educational establishments, providing a raft of building services across our diverse portfolio, including construction, refurbishment, mechanical and electrical engineering (M&E), and planned and reactive maintenance.

“We’re really pleased to have been shortlisted for the Education Estates Awards and recognised as a prominent building services partner in this field.”

Recently completed projects have included the full refurbishment of Sheffield’s University’s celebrated Ella Armstrong innovation centre, the design and build of Henhurst Ridge Primary School, Burton, and the full refurbishment of two of University of Warwick’s Arthur Vicks student accommodation buildings.

J Tomlinson’s current educational projects

Some of the company’s current educational projects includes a new, two-storey modular classroom development at Marriott Primary School in Leicester and the design and build of a £4.5m primary school in Hilton, Derbyshire, plus the design and provision of M&E services to Keele University’s brand new and highly-anticipated Innovation Hub.

Winners of the Education Estates Awards will be announced at the official awards ceremony, which will be taking place on 15th October 2019 at the Principal Hotel in Manchester.

J Tomlinson, which was founded in Nottingham the 1950s, works primarily across the Midlands, Yorkshire and Northern and Central England.

The company provides a range of sustainable building solutions including refurbishment, repairs and maintenance, engineering services, extra care construction, renewable energy, and facilities management, working across a range of key sectors including extra care, healthcare, blue light, social housing and local government.
