March 7, 2018

Following on from the company’s recent success at the Building Communities Awards, J Tomlinson is continuing its awards success streak - this time in commendation of ongoing work with social landlords Ashfield District Council and Midland Heart.

The company has been shortlisted for four TPAS central region awards within the ‘Excellence in Contractor Engagement’ and ‘Team of the Year’ categories.

Excellence in Contractor Engagement focuses on contractors that have worked to deliver added value, respond to local needs and enhance the community, whilst Team of the Year, commends teams that have gone above and beyond to make a difference – not just to the lives of the tenants they work with, but also to landlords, the wider community, and other team members.

Nottingham-based J Tomlinson has worked within the social housing sector for many years on repairs, maintenance and improvements contracts but this is the first year that the company has entered the awards, which seek to recognise outstanding efforts made by tenants, landlords and contractors in a bid to increase standards in social housing.

And it has been rewarded with a shortlisting for its work with Ashfield District Council and Midland Heart – in both categories.

Awards organiser TPAS is a not-for-profit organisation that has a membership of local tenant and landlord organisations, and is widely regarded as England’s leading tenant engagement expert.

Ant Newton, Regeneration Director at J Tomlinson, commented: “J Tomlinson is a people-based business and we are passionate about making a difference to the lives of the people we work with and their communities. We are more than just a contractor, and it is so rewarding to have been recognised for our efforts.”

Karl Baker, Senior Contractors Manager at Midland Heart, added: “The J Tomlinson site team consistently goes above and beyond to improve the lives of residents of Midland Heart and the wider community. Social housing can be a particularly challenging sector to work within, but the team’s hard work, compassion and professionalism sees them make a valuable difference every day. It is a pleasure to work with such a refreshing contractor within the social housing sector.”

The central region awards ceremony will take place at The St Johns Hotel in Solihull on 20th April. Winners from each region will automatically go through to the national finals, which will be held at Chesford Grange, Warwickshire, on 12th July.
