December 20, 2018

J Tomlinson is celebrating a great end to 2018 after being shortlisted for seven prestigious awards ahead of the new year.

This month the company has been announced as a finalist in the National Housing Maintenance Forum Awards and the Building Communities Awards, with both ceremonies due to take place in early 2019.

A full list of the shortlisted awards can be found below:

The NHMF awards celebrate organisations working within the housing sector who have excelled in improving the quality and the efficiency of the services they provide. J Tomlinson and client Nottingham City Homes have been recognised in the awards’ ‘Best Contract’ and ‘Best Customer Impact’ categories, after working together since 2016 to undertake major maintenance works across Nottingham as part of an ongoing Planned Maintenance Programme.

The contract sees both parties working in partnership to achieve positive, resident-focused results, which centre around investigating the root cause of issues and providing future-proofed maintenance solutions – in turn reducing costs, improving sustainability, and contributing to the local community through education, careers days and Fun Days. The awards will be presented at the annual NHMF Conference and Awards dinner on Tuesday 22nd January 2019 at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham.

Hosted by Midlands-based procurement consortium, EEM Ltd, the Building Communities Awards are designed to ‘recognise the professionalism, excellence and innovation sitting at the heart of the region’s construction and housing community.” J Tomlinson is the head sponsor for this year’s awards, which are now in their fifth year, and will be taking place on Friday 15th February 2019 at the Athena in Leicester. This year, the company took home the Collaborative Working Award in conjunction with Ashfield District Council, as well as the coveted Health and Safety Award.

Mark Davis, Chief Executive at J Tomlinson, commented: “We are delighted to have once again been shortlisted in the NHMF Awards and the Building Communities Awards. It’s great to see that we have been recognised in some of the areas that are most important to us, including successful relationships and our people realising their potential – two of the key parts of J Tomlinson’s One Team ethos, which guides us in everything we do.”

J Tomlinson, which was founded in the 1950s, works primarily across the West Midlands, East Midlands and Yorkshire, supported by a network of offices and depots.

The company provides a range of integrated building solutions including construction, refurbishment, repairs and maintenance, mechanical and electrical services (M&E;), and facilities management, and works across all major sectors, including healthcare, social housing, student accommodation, commercial and industrial.
