J Tomlinson triumphs at 2021 Care Sector Supplier Awards
January 19, 2022
J Tomlinson’s extensive work with the UK’s care sector was recently recognised at the Care Sector Supplier Awards 2021 after being announced as the winner of the Building, Decorating and Property Services category – marking the company’s third national award to date.
Now in their second year, the awards recognise and celebrate companies who work effectively and innovatively with clients operating in the care industry.
The Building, Decorating and Property Services title is awarded to companies which work in partnership with organisations in the care sector to create and enhance the built environment.
Over 40 companies, from suppliers of assistive technologies to specialist e-learning providers, were shortlisted in this year’s awards, with the ultimate winners announced at a Category Winners and Awards of Merit ceremony which took place at the Hurlingham Club in London on November 19.
Recent care building and refurbishment projects
A leading provider of socially-conscious building, refurbishment and maintenance services to the care sector, J Tomlinson’s expanding portfolio of specialist care projects sees them working across primary, secondary and respite facilities, including hospitals, medical centres, sexual health clinics, dementia care homes, supported living, retirement villages, mental health and neurological rehabilitation centres.
The company’s unobtrusive, professional and knowledgeable approach has been instrumental in the creation of long-standing relationships with prominent organisations across the care sector, with key clients including Hamberley Care, Barchester Healthcare, Jigsaw Homes, Bromford, Golden Lane Housing, MHA, and The Extra Care Charitable Trust.
Some of the larger projects delivered by J Tomlinson over the last eighteen months include the refurbishment and extension of Glenfield Hospital’s Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU), creation of new bed spaces at Galanos House’s award-winning Poppy Lodge dementia unit, plus internal upgrades to Moreland Court – an over 55s sheltered scheme based in Carlton, Nottinghamshire.
It is due to complete multiple new-build care luxury care homes in 2022, including Barchester Healthcare’s newest nursing home and Hamberley Development’s latest COVID-secure 70-bed facility – both of which are located in Worcestershire.
In addition, the company’s refurbishment division has recently been appointed to undertake comprehensive redevelopment works across Ardenleigh Hospital’s Coral Ward in partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Trust. The scheme, which is due to commence this year and will be undertaken across a partially-occupied mental health ward, will comprise refurbishment of a low-stimulus room, seclusion room, communal areas, as well as minor external works.
Mark Davis, chief executive at J Tomlinson, commented:
“For J Tomlinson to have been recognised for our contributions to the care sector – particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic – marks an outstanding achievement for our company and one that we are extremely proud of. It is a privilege to work in partnership with specialist care providers of all sizes and specialities to help ensure their facilities are fit for the future and provide the optimum environment to assist in the provision of high quality care.
“The Care Sector Supplier Awards have provided a crucial space for businesses who make invaluable contributions to the UK’s care sector, and we would like to extend our congratulations to all winners and finalists.”
