J Tomlinson is committed to providing green energy solutions, helping our clients to reduce their energy bills, meet their sustainability targets, and keep maintenance costs down. From auditing and consultancy to installation, our specialist team are experts in delivering renewable energy solutions specifically tailored to meeting your key requirements.

What are the benefits of using renewable energy?

  • Upfront funding
  • Government payments (Renewable Heat Incentive - RHI)
  • Reduced carbon footprint
  • Tackles fuel poverty
  • Flexible to property types
  • VAT saving (5% vs 15%)
  • Stable energy prices

Ground Source Heat Pumps

Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHPs) are used to take heat from the ground in order to heat radiators, under-floor/warm air heating systems, and hot water in domestic properties.

This eco-friendly, renewable technology is proving to be an attractive and viable alternative to gas and electricity – particularly in off-grid properties - replacing oil-fired and electric heating, as well as liquefied petrol, and providing savings of up to:

  • between £475 and £725 a year to replace oil-fired heating
  • between £830 and £1,465 a year to replace electric heating
  • between £1,315 and £1,975 a year to replace LPG

Ground Source Heat Pumps: The Benefits

  • Significantly lower fuel bills
  • Lower energy consumption – reduced carbon emissions
  • Potential Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) funding
  • Minimal maintenance required
  • Can increase property sale value
  • Stable energy prices

Solar PV

Solar PV (photovoltaic) systems work by converting the sun’s energy into electricity, and can be mounted to the ground or roofing via tiles or panels. Sunlight is free, meaning that you only pay for the installation when you choose solar-powered electricity. Furthermore, as a green renewable energy, solar electricity does not release any harmful pollutants to the environment, helping you to significantly reduce your carbon emissions whilst keeping costs down.

Solar PV: The Benefits

  • Most direct way to reduce carbon emissions
  • Fixed low cost energy
  • Land can have dual usage e.g. agriculture
  • Upfront funding
  • Minimal maintenance and zero noise
  • Established technology (40 years)

LED lighting

Lighting is estimated to account for a staggering 20 per cent of all energy consumption in the UK. Now more affordable and efficient than ever, LED lighting is more a cost-effective, environmentally friendly and durable alternative to standard filament and halogen lighting, meaning that making the switch could be hugely beneficial to your business.

LED Lighting – The Benefits:

  • Long life-span
  • Highly energy-efficient
  • High brightness and intensity
  • Extensive colour range
  • Instant illumination – Unlike with more traditional lighting solutions, LEDs don’t need to ‘warm up’ before operating at full brightness
