J Tomlinson appointed to NHS Shared Business Services framework to deliver public sector construction and refurbishment works

J Tomlinson has been awarded multiple places on a NHS framework specialising in the delivery of public sector construction works.

Running for three years with the possibility of two 24-month extensions, the NHS Shared Business Services Public Sector Construction Works framework has been specially designed for healthcare and other public services to procure construction and refurbishment projects on time and within budget.

Delivering projects up to £5m

J Tomlinson has been appointed to lots one and two, delivering projects up to £5m in value across the West Midlands, East Midlands, Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East England.

The company is one of a limited number of contractors that have been appointed to each lot of this highly-competitive framework following a comprehensive tender process in which all interested parties were assessed on price, quality, as well as proven experience in providing a full turnkey building services package to clients, underlining J Tomlinson’s outstanding healthcare building and maintenance expertise.

A compliant route to market for NHS and other public sector organisations

Having commenced last month, the framework promises an efficient and compliant route to market for NHS bodies including Clinical Commissioning Groups, GP practices, acute, mental health, community and ambulance trusts, and charities and social enterprises.

As well as the NHS, the framework is open to other organisations operating in the public sector, including – but not limited to – education, housing, social care, leisure, libraries, blue light, plus offices and industrial and commercial buildings. Customers can directly award from a framework or run a mini-competition, providing more flexibility in the procurement process.

Works that J Tomlinson will deliver as part of the agreement include design, refurbishment, demolition, mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as any other services as required for a design and build or construct-only project.

NHS and public sector expertise – projects and frameworks

The company has delivered a range of construction projects to NHS and healthcare clients in recent times, including undertaking the major refurbishment of Glenfield Hospital’s Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU), as well as partnering with East Midlands Ambulance Service on a 3-year comprehensive facilities management contract worth approximately £1.2m per year.
